Acacia Honey is very well known worldwide, it is a completely organic honey obtained from Acacia Mangium mainly found in Malaysia or Borneo. There are differences between Acacia honey producing in European countries and United States, Acacia honey in US is actually made from ”false acacia”, from a tree also known as “black locust”. In European countries, it is known as its scientific name “Robinia pseudoacacia”. Real Acacia Honey is produced from Acacia Mangium, a species found more in Malaysia and Australia. Borneo / Malaysia acacia honey is characterised by having darker colour due to high antioxidants. In opposite, European and US acacia honey is characterised by having a very light colour.
